The Leavells Have Moved!!It has been a while since we updated the website and we apologize for the lack of communication. Alot has been going on the last few months and now that things are beginning to settle down, we thought it was time to bring everyone up to speed.
Effective June 1, 2008, the Leavells are now based out of Fairview, Tennessee. That's right! Micky and Robin moved out of the fast-paced big city and into the slower country life of Fairview. We love it here and even our dog, Riley has given up being a GUARD dog and is now a lazy YARD dog. He barely raises his head when the wild turkeys and deer pass through the yard! LOL
Since we first sang at CrossRoads Cowboy Church in Fairview last summer, we have said we wished we were closer so we could visit more often. Moving was not on our radar screen at this point in our lives, but God had other ideas. Little did we know He was moving us to Fairview!! The folks at the Cowboy Church were instrumental in finding the place we now call home and helping us to move. "Thanks" just doesn't begin to cover it. They have all been so great to help us feel at home.
Our new phone number is at the bottom of this page. However, Robin's cell phone and the email address have not changed. Feel free to call or drop us a note any time. We'd love to hear from you!
Another big change came in the middle of May when Robin's position at Salem Publishing (Singing News Magazine) was deleted due to economic restructuring. I will remain "on call" with the company to be of assistance to Les Butler for strategic projects. In the meantime, we are praying for God to open the doors that need to be opened and close the ones that don't. For a while now, I have wanted to work from home and start a business that obtains and processes music licenses for gospel groups like ours. The idea seems to be getting alot of good response. But a door has opened this week that may take this idea to another level, bigger than I even dreamed. Please pray for God's plan to be revealed in this situation.
In the meantime, we're trusting the Lord to keep the bills paid. God is faithful and in every situation, He has always proved more than able to provide. I'm sure He will do it again this time, too.
Before any rumors of our demise get started, let me nip them in the bud. The Leavells are very much alive and well and still serving the Lord. The group is doing fine and although the schedule is slower than we'd like, God knows best and His Plan is always better than our own. The economy has taken a toll on everyone. Its hard for churches to book singings as well as for groups to travel very far on love offerings. I've heard some groups say they were limiting their travel to within 50-75 miles from home. Praise the Lord, so far we have not had to make that decision. We did have to postpone our trip to Florida, however. Hopefully, things will improve and we can go sometime this fall. (We miss you, New Beginnings, Mango Church of God, and Fellowship Bible Church.)
Now that I'm working in the home office full-time, I hope to keep the website updated more often. We'll be adding new recipes soon and maybe even some new pictures. Stay tuned!!
______________________________________________________________Special thanks to our very dear friends, Terry and Darlene Mauldin and Mary Jackson for all their help, love and support during all the excitement of the last few months. Having you along for the ride makes this roller-coaster so much more fun!! You will never fully know what you mean to us. We love you so much! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It has been said that if you ever stop growing, you might as well quit. Well, we're not quitting, that's for sure! For the last few months, our pianist, Bobby Phillips, has stepped up to the plate to sing the third part as well as play piano. He does an admirable job! We will, however, consider someone for the baritone part who believes God is leading them into ministry with the Leavells. Please pray that God will continue to send the right people to enhance this ministry. Someone who is sincere about ministry and is living what they are singing. We look forward in faith and thanksgiving for what God is going to do with The Leavells.
We have been blessed with several good, Christian men who play drums and various guitars who come along with us whenever schedules allow.
We are a work in progress. Good things are happening; keep watching! ___________________________________________________

Prayers Answered: Now more than ever, we are so very grateful for our van and trailer. As high as gas prices are, diesel is even higher and a bus would cost so much more to operate.
In our recent move, God provided a home that perfectly meets our needs for living space, storage, parking for the ministry vehicles, a place for our two beloved dogs Riley and Max, and a much welcomed slower pace of life.
Through all of the recent events, God has brought people into our lives to meet needs and help us keep going just when we thought we would give up.
Thank you, God, for knowing and meeting our needs, even when...no, ESPECIALLY when we can't see what tomorrow holds. What an AWESOME GOD we serve!! ______________________________________________
